Earlier this month, four people died after drowning in the Gangapur Dam in Maharashtra’s Nashik district. The deceased included three minor cousins and a young woman. The Disaster Management Department stated that the deceased were the residents of Sawargaon.
The group entered the water upon reaching the dam and began the fun activities. While they looked comfortable with the water level initially, there was a lack of awareness of the depth and the deep pits hidden beneath the surface. One of the teenagers suddenly went into the deepest part and began drowning while playing in the water, leading to panic among the others.
