New Delhi [भारत]July 1 (ANI): The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested an alleged associate of Tillu Tajpuria gang in connection with the sensational firing incident that took place in Alipore last year. Police said on Wednesday that the incident took place during an attempt to capture a disputed property, in which about 12 rounds were fired.
The accused have been identified as Sandeep alias Dagu Maharaj (40) and his cousin Deepak (32), residents of Sonipat, Haryana. Police said that Sandeep Tillu is an active associate of Tajpuria gang.
According to the police, the incident took place on October 30, 2025, when 30-45 armed men allegedly arrived in Ramzanpur village of Alipur police station area to forcibly take possession of a disputed plot. During the incident, the attackers allegedly opened indiscriminate fire, firing around 12 rounds, attacked people with sticks and tried to break the lock of the plot.
How did the arrest happen?
Based on a specific intelligence, a team of the Crime Branch laid a trap in Narela area and stopped a black SUV. The people in the car reportedly tried to flee, but were caught after a short chase.

Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol loaded with four live cartridges from Sandeep, four additional live cartridges from Deepak and seized the SUV used by the accused. A new case has also been registered in the Crime Branch police station under the Arms Act.
Many revelations came during interrogation
During interrogation, Sandeep reportedly revealed that he had come in contact with gangster Tillu Tajpuria while he was lodged in Sonipat jail and joined his gang after his release in 2022. He further alleged that he was provided a pistol by the gang and that he remained in touch with its members.
Police said Sandeep has also confessed to his role in the Alipore firing case, and claimed that he and other gang members were called with weapons to help them forcibly take over the disputed property.

According to the police, Sandeep is involved in several criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder and Arms Act offenses in Delhi and Haryana. Deepak is also involved in several criminal cases including murder, Arms Act and NDPS cases. (ANI)
