By-Election Result 2024: The counting of votes for the by-elections for 46 assembly seats in 13 states in the country and Nanded in Maharashtra and Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala will start at 8 am on Saturday morning. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad in Kerala. Earlier this seat was represented by his brother Rahul Gandhi.

By-elections were held on 9 seats of UP

In Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi is facing competition from veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Satyan Mokeri and Bharatiya Janata Party’s Navya Haridas. Nine seats in Uttar Pradesh, seven seats in Rajasthan, six seats in West Bengal, five seats in Assam, four seats each in Punjab and Bihar, three seats in Karnataka, two seats each in Madhya Pradesh and Kerala and Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Assembly by-elections were held on one seat each in Uttarakhand and Meghalaya.

By-elections were held on November 20 in Meerapur, Kundarki, Sisamau, Katehari, Phulpur, Majhwan, Ghaziabad, Karhal and Khair seats of Uttar Pradesh. Although these results will not have a direct impact on the composition of the 403-member state assembly, the contest is being seen as the first major clash between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and its political rivals after the Lok Sabha elections. By-elections were also held on Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand on 20 November. This assembly seat of Rudraprayag district became vacant after the death of BJP MLA Shaila Rani Rawat in July.
