Asian Games 2026: This time the Asian Games will be hosted by Japan. Which will run from 19th September to 4th October. Before this big event, a shocking news has come out from Pakistan. Pakistan’s top table tennis players have suffered a big blow just before the Asian Games. Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) has made it clear that players will have to bear the entire expenses of their travel and accommodation to participate in the Asian Games to be held in Japan this year. After this order of the federation, there is an atmosphere of disappointment and anxiety among the players.

Big blow to Pakistani table tennis players

Pakistani table tennis players were informed about this surprising decision when during the two-day National Trials held in Lahore, some players asked questions to the federation officials regarding their daily and traveling allowances. According to a PTI report, keeping the condition of confidentiality on the attitude of the Federation, a player has also expressed his pain.

This player told that we have been clearly told that no payment will be made for participating in these trials. Apart from this, the players who will be selected for the Asian Games will have to make their own arrangements for their air tickets and expenses of $50 per day there. When the players protested against this decision, a senior PTTF official argued that the players should be happy that at least the trials are being organised. According to the official, the federation has not received any grant from Pakistan Sports Board (PSB). Players believe that this is a very worrying situation for the development of sports in the country and the future of athletes.

Never won a medal in table tennis

If we look at the table tennis history of Pakistan, the country has not won any medal in the Asian Games or Asian Championships till date. Strong Asian countries like China, South Korea, Malaysia and India have dominated this game.
