Pakistan Squad, Asian Games 2026: Pakistan has announced its men’s T20 team for the Asian Games 2026. The Asian Games is to be held in Japan in September-October this year, for which Pakistan has selected a 15-member team. PCB has made Sahibzada Farhan the captain of the Asian Games team. Abdul Samad will be the vice-captain.
There are 4 players in Pakistan’s selected team for the Asian Games, who are yet to debut in T20 International. The names of those players include Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadakat and Saad Masood.

Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Abdul Samad (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniel, Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Sam Ayub, Sufiyan Mukeem and Usman Khan.
Sahibzada Farhan becomes captain, double challenge will be in front
Sahibzada Farhan has the experience of playing 46 T20I matches for Pakistan but he has not captained it yet. This will be Sahibzada’s first tournament with the Pakistan team as captain in the white ball format. It is clear that Sahibzada will take up the double challenge to fulfill Pakistan’s dream of winning the gold medal in the Asian Games. The first challenge before him will be to give a solid start to the team with his batting and the second challenge will be to prove himself as captain.
Big names out of Pakistan team
Big names have been shown the door from Pakistan’s Asian Games team, in which apart from star batsman Babar Azam, regular captain Salman Aga is also named. Apart from them, big names like Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi are also out of the team.
Pakistan cricket in Asian Games
The cricket event in the Asian Games will start from 24th September. While the medal matches will be held on 3rd October. Till now, cricket has been a part of the Asian Games thrice – in 2010, 2014 and 2022. Pakistan stood fourth in the 2022 Asian Games, which was held in 2023.
