It is Day 5 of the Asian Games 2026, and Indian athletes are involved across several sporting disciplines on Thursday, September 24.
The day features multiple medal events, including the women’s triple jump, women’s 10,000m, mixed 4x400m relay and artistic gymnastics vault final.
Indian athletes are also competing in boxing, kabaddi, athletics and other events.
Roshibina Devi has already secured a silver medal after losing to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the women’s 60kg wushu final. India also won bronze medals in men’s doubles sculls in rowing and the mixed team skeet event in shooting.

Rowing
India secured a bronze medal in the men’s doubles sculls after Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finished third.
Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the men’s singles sculls final. Ujjwal Kumar Singh and Rohit also finished fourth in the lightweight men’s doubles sculls final.
Gurbani Kaur, Aleena Anto, Tendenthoi Haobijam and Poonam finished sixth in the women’s four final, while Arvind Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Navdeep Singh and Jakar Khan finished fifth in the men’s quadruple sculls final.
Wushu
Roshibina Devi won the silver medal in the women’s 60kg final after losing to Zhang Xiaoyu of China.
Shooting
Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in the skeet mixed team final.
In men’s 10m air pistol individual qualification, Kamaljeet finished ninth, Akash Bharadwaj 11th and Kedarling Balakrishna Uchaganve 35th. India finished fourth in the team final.
Athletics
Anamika Aneesh and Pooja completed the heptathlon 100m hurdles and high jump events.
In the 100m hurdles, Anamika clocked 14.80 seconds for 868 points, while Pooja finished in 14.61 seconds for 894 points.
In the high jump, Anamika cleared 1.74m for 903 points, while Pooja cleared 1.71m for 867 points.
India’s mixed 4x400m relay team of Jay Kumar, MR Poovamma, Manu TS and Kiran Pahal finished second in their heat and qualified for the final.
Canoe Sprint
Megha Pradeep finished fourth in women’s canoe single 200m semifinal 1 and did not qualify for the final.
Soniya Devi and Parvathy Geetha failed to qualify from the women’s kayak double 500m semifinal 1.
Naocha Laitonjam, Varinder Singh, Oinam Arun Singh and Harshawardhan Shaktawat finished seventh in the men’s kayak four 500m final A.
Raju Rawat and Gyaneshwor Singh finished ninth in the men’s canoe double 500m final A.
Harshawardhan Shaktawat finished fifth in men’s kayak single 500m heat 2 and advanced to the semifinal. Parvathy Geetha and Prasanna Kumar Sathyaprakash also advanced to the semifinal after finishing fifth in mixed kayak double 500m heat 2.
Swimming
Aryan Nehra finished third in the men’s 800m freestyle final B.
Benedicton Beniston did not qualify from the men’s 50m butterfly heats. Beniston, Aneesh Sunil, Akash Mani and Heer Shah also failed to qualify from the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay heats.
Other Indian Results
In table tennis, Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade defeated Iran’s Setayash Iloukhani and Mashid Ashtari 3-0 in the women’s doubles round 2. Sreeja Akula and Syndrela Das also won their women’s doubles round 2 match 3-0 against Mongolia’s Bolor-erdene Batmunkh and Burenjargal Sanjaa.
Manush Shah defeated Malaysia’s Wong Qi Shen 4-0 in the men’s singles round one.
India defeated Chinese Taipei 37-21 in the men’s kabaddi Group A game.
In squash, Anahat Singh defeated Singapore’s Au Yeong Wai Iynn 3-0, while Tanvi Khanna defeated Au Yeong Wai Yhann 3-1 in the women’s singles round of 16. Abhay Singh beat Sri Lanka’s Ravindu Laksiri 3-0, while Veer Chotrani defeated Malaysia’s Sanjay Jeeva 3-2 in the men’s singles round of 16.
Suraj Chand and Shameena Riaz lost 2-0 to Joshana Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar.
In hockey, India registered an 8-2 victory over South Korea in the men’s Pool A game.
In boxing, Sumit Kundu lost to Iraq’s Ali Qasim Hamdan Al Sarray in the men’s 70kg round of 16.
In fencing, Bhavani Devi lost to China’s Rao Xueyi in the women’s sabre round of 16, while Shreya Gupta lost to South Korea’s Jeon Ha-Young.
In eSports, Paritosh is competing in four group games of Puyo Puyo Champions.
Pranati Nayak is featuring in the women’s vault final in artistic gymnastics.
