Ashwini Reddy, popularly known by her screen name Ashu Reddy, is reportedly facing legal trouble after a case was allegedly registered by Hyderabad’s CCS police against her and her family over accusations of financial cheating exceeding Rs 9 crore in the name of marriage. According to the complaint filed by a London-based software engineer, substantial amounts of money, gold, and assets were transferred, some registered in her name. The complainant also alleges that despite marriage discussions and rituals, the wedding did not go ahead. Ashu Reddy has denied all allegations and warned of legal action against false and misleading reports.

The Hyderabad City Central Crime Station (CCS) police has allegedly registered a case against her and her family members. The complaint involves allegations of financial cheating amounting to over Rs 9.35 crore under the pretext of marriage. Responding to the allegations, Ashu Reddy has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

Through her social media account, she stated that false information is being circulated without her consent. She also warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading unverified claims. Her statement stated that any misleading reports or accusations would be addressed through proper legal channels.
What Did Complainant Say About Ashu Reddy?
The case was filed by Y V Dharmendra, a software engineer based in London, who claims he was in a long-term relationship with the actress. As per the complaint, Dharmendra first met Ashu Reddy in 2018 in Hyderabad. He alleges that she introduced herself as someone who had completed her studies in the United States and was pursuing a career in the film industry in India. The two reportedly developed a close friendship, which later turned into a romantic relationship. The complainant claims that during this period, Ashu Reddy assured him of marriage.

He further claims that when he approached her family to formalise the wedding, he was allegedly dismissed. The complaint states that after prolonged engagement, she eventually refused to proceed with the marriage. An additional allegation states that Ashu Reddy’s sister also received Rs 50 lakh during the same period.
