A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Kurukshetra, Haryana, where the body of a 24-year-old youth living in Karan Colony was found hanging from the noose of a sheet in his room.
The deceased has been identified as Nitin Kumar (24), who was a B.Sc student and also a nationally respected artist. Sensation has spread in the area after the incident. The police reached the spot and recovered an emotional two-page suicide note from the deceased. Apart from this, Nitin had also recorded a video just before embracing death, in which he narrated his ordeal and accused his adoptive maternal uncle and his wife of serious torture.
The police conducted postmortem of the body and handed it over to Nitin’s biological parents. On the basis of the complaint of the deceased’s real mother, the police have registered a case under relevant sections against a total of four people including the adoptive couple, Nitin’s wife and another youth.
Real parents’ allegation: ‘Behavior changed after having their child’
In her statement to the police, Nitin’s real mother Reena (resident of Ratgal) has made many shocking revelations. Reena told that when Nitin was very young (about 7-8 years old), she had given him for adoption to her brother Ravindra and sister-in-law Sunita, because they had no children at that time. Both of them raised Nitin like a son, but in the year 2015, Sunita and Ravindra had their own child. Reena alleges that after having their child, the behavior of Ravindra and Sunita completely changed towards Nitin. After this, Nitin started being harassed mentally and physically continuously. He was also allegedly given such medicines, due to which his mental condition started deteriorating.
Fear of forced marriage and murder
The real mother of the deceased told the police that about five months ago on January 4, the accused had forcibly married Nitin to a girl named Sheetal against his will. Reena has alleged that her son was murdered as part of a well-planned conspiracy and after the murder, the body was hanged from the fan in the room with the help of a sheet to make the case look like suicide. This incident is said to have happened around 2 o’clock last night. The mother says that the accused did not even inform her about Nitin’s death. Let us tell you that Nitin’s adopted maternal uncle Ravindra is a government teacher.
Video before death: ‘They took me out of the house in 4 pairs of clothes’
After Nitin’s death, a video of it has surfaced, which is also going viral on social media. In the video, Nitin looks very emotional and is saying,
Hello friends, my name is Nitin Kumar. I live in house number 460 of Karan Colony, Kurukshetra. My parents (adopted ones) have thrown me out of the house. The reason for this is that I was undergoing mental health treatment, which was costing a lot. I have been a psychiatric patient, so they feel that I trouble them again and again and they can’t handle me anymore.
Nitin further said in the video, ‘About five months ago, on January 4, I was forcibly married. After marriage, my in-laws and my wife also harassed me and threw me out of the house. I was thrown out of the house with only four pairs of clothes and some books. I was so mentally broken that I have now been forced to commit suicide.
Uncle and aunt held responsible in suicide note
Nitin has clearly written in the video and his suicide note that if he commits suicide, Ravindra Kumar and Sunita Rani (resident house no. 460) will be completely responsible for it. Nitin said, ‘If any untoward incident happens to me in future or I meet with any accident, then the responsibility for the same will also be his. He adopted me in childhood, but now he is backing away from his responsibilities.
At the end of the video, Nitin had also cried and requested people for help. He had said, ‘I appeal to all of you for help. I am in desperate need of a job. If there is any good job opportunity anywhere, especially related to teaching or art teaching, please help me. I am a National Awardee and a respected artist at State and District level. If you cooperate with me, I will be very grateful to you.
