New Delhi [भारत]July 1 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed to have confirmed information related to Shri Ram Temple, which he initially doubted. He said he would share its details on Wednesday.
In a post on Twitter, Kejriwal said, “A few days ago someone gave me some information related to Shri Ram Temple. I did not believe it at first. In the last few days I confirmed that information and it is correct. Today I will share that information with you all. Press conference – today at 1 pm.”
Demand for action against ‘big names’ in donation scam
Earlier on Saturday, Kejriwal had demanded strict action against those involved in the alleged embezzlement of donations in Ayodhya Ram temple. He had said that action should be taken not just against lower level officials but also against “big names”. He argued that targeting only junior officials would not address public concerns, and those at the top would have to face action.
Speaking to ANI, Kejriwal said, “We want strict action against big names. Mere arrest of small names will do nothing. Action should be taken against the big names involved. Only then will people be satisfied.”
On reports of resignation of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Kejriwal said the resignations will be of no use and demanded punitive action against all those allegedly involved. “There are rumors about this; no one knows the reality. But resignation will be of no use. Action should be taken against all those involved in theft,” Kejriwal said.
Allegation of conspiracy against Yogi ji
He alleged a conspiracy against the Chief Minister and demanded punishment for those accused of misusing temple donations. He further said, “I would like to tell them that ‘Chanda Chor’ is also conspiring against Yogi Ji. They are preparing to remove Yogi Ji from the post of CM. Therefore, I would like to tell Yogi Ji not to be a part of this ‘great sin’. Those who have looted Lord Ram’s Dham should be hanged.”
Judicial custody of the accused for 14 days
On Monday, a local court in Ayodhya sent all the accused in the alleged donation scam to judicial custody for 14 days. The court’s decision comes after a thorough investigation by the Uttar Pradesh Police into reports of financial irregularities and misuse of funds and offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
