Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its first foldable smartphone later this month. While earlier reports had been referring to the device as the iPhone Fold, a recent leak suggested that Apple may use iPhone Ultra branding for it.
Even though the Cupertino-based tech giant has not officially announced anything yet, there are several leaks and rumours which give us a fair idea of what to expect from the iPhone Fold. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone Fold in September 2026, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. As for the pricing, the foldable iPhone could cost between Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 2,15,000 for the base variant.
Apple iPhone Fold: specifications and features (Expected)
The iPhone Fold is expected to come with a 7.8-inch OLED main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer screen could be 5.5 inches. Performance-wise, the device will likely be powered by Apple’s A20 chip, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Furthermore, the iPhone Fold could be backed by a 5,800Ah battery. The tech giant is expected to bring back Touch ID, with possible integration into the side power button.
In terms of optics, the foldable iPhone is said to sport a dual rear camera setup, which may include a 48MP primary camera and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the device will likely house an 18MP or 24MP camera on the front.
