Actor Anupam Kher has shared a glimpse of his recent meeting with Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro, calling the visit one of the most special moments of his ongoing trip to the US and Canada.
Kher, who is in North America with his musical play Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane, visited De Niro at his home in New York. Sharing pictures and videos from the meeting on Instagram, the actor described De Niro as his “dearest friend” and said spending time with him is always memorable.
Kher thanked the veteran actor for inviting him home, hosting him for lunch and spending time with him.
“Meeting this legend is always a joy,” Kher wrote, adding that he feels fortunate to call De Niro a friend while continuing to admire him as an actor.
The Saaransh actor also expressed gratitude to De Niro’s family, including Tiffany, for making the visit memorable. He said the warmth and generosity shown during the meeting would remain a cherished memory.
Kher also highlighted a special gesture from De Niro, thanking him for a cap that he received during the visit.
“Most importantly — Thank You for the cap. Your kind gesture means the world to me!” Kher wrote.
The actor is currently travelling across North America with Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane, a musical production featuring him in a theatrical format. During his stay in New York, he took time out from the tour to meet De Niro.
Kher and De Niro have previously shared a warm friendship, with the Indian actor frequently expressing his admiration for the Hollywood star.
