The recently flagged-off Amrit Bharat Express, including the Malda Town-Bengaluru route via Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam, received a warm reception at multiple stations.
Launched by the Prime Minister on December 30, the trains were welcomed with grand celebrations, adding a festive touch to the journey.
In Odisha, the Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express was greeted with enthusiasm at Jaleswar, Balasore, Soro, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, and Brahmapur stations, all falling under the South Eastern Railway (SER) jurisdiction. Traditional dances and rhythmic drum beats created a lively atmosphere, making the welcome memorable.
Further north, in Andhra Pradesh, the train was equally celebrated at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam Railway stations, falling under the East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction. Bhadrak station witnessed the presence of notable figures like MP Manjulata Mandal, former MLA Muktikant Mandal, and social worker Sisir Kumar Mishra, adding to the festive spirit.
Cuttack railway station hosted Passenger Amenities Committee Member Dilip Mallik and social worker Lalatendu Badu on Sunday morning, while at Bhubaneswar railway station, MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Sulata Deo, and Muzibulla Khan graced the event alongside ECoR General Manager Manoj Sharma and Divisional Railway Manager HS Bajwa.
Excitement was palpable at Khurda Road railway station, where MLA Suresh Kumar Routray and social worker Rashmi Ranjan Mahapatra joined the festivities. Members of Parliament Chandrasekhar Sahoo and MLA Bikram Panda also participated in welcoming the train at Brahmapur railway station.
The Amrit Bharat Express brought joy to passengers and locals alike, with people eagerly capturing selfies and photographs alongside the train, ensuring a memorable journey for all. The rhythmic drum beats and classical dance performances added a touch of cultural flair to the overall celebration.
