Amitabh Bachchan Calls Madhuri Dixit ‘Incredible’ After Her ‘Kaahe Chhed Mohe’ Performance on KBC

Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit turned her special appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati into a memorable musical moment when she performed a brief excerpt from the iconic song ‘Kaahe Chhed Chhed Mohe’ from Devdas at the request of host Amitabh Bachchan.

The performance came as part of the birthday celebrations for Amitabh, who asked the show’s production team, “Computer ji, please play a song for Madhuri ji.”

As the 2002 classic began playing, Madhuri performed from the hot seat, captivating the audience with her intricate mudras and expressive facial movements.

Amitabh watched the performance from nearby and applauded warmly. Impressed by her classical dance, he said, “Wah! Kya baat hai… Incredible, incredible Madhuri ji.”

‘Kaahe Chhed Chhed Mohe’ is one of the best-known classical dance sequences from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, in which Madhuri played the character of Chandramukhi. The song was composed by Ismail Darbar, with lyrics by Nusrat Badr and vocals by Pandit Birju Maharaj and Kavita Krishnamurti.

The choreography was designed by Kathak exponent Pandit Birju Maharaj, with intricate movements created to highlight Madhuri’s classical dancing and expressive style.

Madhuri is also set to host the Marathi version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, titled Kon Honaar Crorepati.

Madhuri and Amitabh have previously appeared together in the song ‘Makhna’ from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, in which she made a special appearance. However, the two actors have not shared the screen as lead actors in a full-fledged film.
