Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha

Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha from July 3, during which he will inaugurate several development projects, including a major ethanol plant in Bargarh. After his programs in Bargarh, the Union Home Minister will visit Sambalpur for the second leg of his visit. Shah further said, “From Bargarh, he will go to Sambalpur on the 4th, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several projects.”

Minister Suresh Pujari spoke on GST

Apart from the visit, Pujari also commented on the completion of ten years of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, calling it a transformative step for the Indian economy. “It has been 10 years (since GST was implemented). There should be no policy paralysis in the government. The 10-year journey of GST has benefited both the country and the state. India has benefited a lot from this decision; it ensures transparency, and the state revenue has also increased significantly,” he stressed.

As India completes nine years of implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), data released from the office of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlights the digital transformation of the system, showing that there are now 1.65 crore registered taxpayers in the GST framework. “GST reforms have strengthened India’s growth journey through a simpler, more transparent and citizen-centric indirect tax system, reducing the burden on essential sectors and enhancing the ease of living and ease of doing business,” Nirmala Sitharaman’s office said on Thursday.
