Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is being discussed ever since the information about theft of money donated by devotees became public. It is alleged that the employees involved in calculating the donation amount have stolen a huge amount. The Trust has not yet made public any information about the total amount stolen. Nor has any FIR been registered in this regard. On the recommendation of the Trust, the state government has constituted a three-member committee under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of Lucknow Division to investigate this entire matter, but the controversy is not showing any sign of stopping.

The name of Shri Ram Mandir Trust of Ayodhya is Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. There are total 15 members in this trust. These may include nine permanent and six nominated members. According to the information recorded on the website of the Trust, at present there are a total of 14 officials.
When and how was the trust formed?
Ram Mandir Trust was formed on 4 February 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced this in the Lok Sabha. The Supreme Court had given three months time to the Central Government to form the Ram Mandir Trust. The Prime Minister made the announcement four days before the Supreme Court deadline ended. The government issued a gazette notification related to the establishment of the trust. 67 acres of land was handed over to the Trust by the Centre. Arrangements have been made that the Trust can take completely independent decisions on all matters related to the construction of the temple.
The trust received its first donation of one rupee.
The Central Government gave one rupee in cash to the Trust, which was the first donation of the Trust. After this, Bharatiya Janata Party and allied organizations called upon people to donate for the construction of the temple. Many people donated huge amounts and even common people donated as per their capacity. Donations for the construction of the temple started arriving from all over the country through various mediums, which is still continuing. Due to the donated money, the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya was completed on time. Now when devotees from India and abroad are coming for darshan, the process of donation has also increased. There is an uproar after the information of theft from this amount.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Kshetra Trust can take decisions on all matters related to the construction of the temple. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to nominate some members on its own behalf. The rule is that the nominated members should be Hindus. The website has been published with the names, designations, photos of all the members. The President of the Trust is Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Ji Maharaj of Shri Maniram Das Ji’s Cantonment. Shri K, appearing as a lawyer in the Supreme Court in favor of Ram Lalla. Parasaran is the founding trustee.

Ram Mandir Trust is important for many reasons. This trust worked towards the construction of a grand Ram temple. Trust officials have a role in the form in which the temple is presented to the general public today. Dalit members are also included in the trust, due to which social balance has been created. Many saints, a doctor and a lawyer from across the country have been given place in the trust. This trust is also playing its role in maintaining religious and social balance in Ayodhya. However, this initiative is still in its initial stages.

The matter gained momentum due to political rhetoric
As soon as the theft incident came to light, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav publicly accused it of theft worth crores of rupees. Along with him, Aam Aadmi Party, Congress and other parties also made their respective contributions in this matter. The Trust initially looked into this matter at its own level. When there was noise, the state government was requested to form a SIT. As per rules, if theft has taken place then FIR should be registered. Now it is not hidden from anyone that many employees associated with the temple are in the eyes of the Trust. Information about recovery of some amount from different employees is also common. It can be said that the Trust did not maintain transparency in this matter. Otherwise, there would not have been so much noise.
