Currently, the Pakistan Cricket Board is keeping a close eye on the National T20 Cup being played in Pakistan. After the poor performance in the ODI World Cup, a lot of changes have been seen in Pakistan cricket. The entire coaching staff has been changed and a new selection committee has been formed. The new selection committee headed by former fast bowler Wahab Riaz is now eyeing to prepare a new team and in this regard, everyone’s attention is on the ongoing T20 National Cup. In such a situation, a 28 year old player has done something that Wahab will definitely talk about him. This player is Nisar Ahmed who has taken a hat-trick in this tournament.
Lahore Blues faced Rawalpindi in the National T20 Cup on Monday. Lahore won this match easily. Batting first, Lahore scored 166 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. In response, Rawalpindi team collapsed for 102 runs.
Nisar’s hat-trick
Nisar played an important role in quickly capturing Rawalpindi. He ended Rawalpindi’s innings in the 18th over itself. Nisar took a hat-trick on the second, third and fourth balls of this over. Nisar first bowled Zaman Khan LBW with an excellent yorker. After this, he trapped Kasif Ali LBW on the next ball also. Mohammad Anwar was bowled on the fourth ball and with this Nisar completed his hat-trick, reducing Rawalpindi’s innings to 102 runs and giving Lahore victory by a huge margin of 64 runs. Nisar gave five runs and took five wickets in a total of 2.4 overs. These figures of his will definitely be in front of the selection committee. Nisar has not played a match for Pakistan yet, but after Haris Rauf recently refused to play the Test, the committee would be considering his options and in such a situation, it would not be surprising if Nisar’s luck runs out.
