New Delhi [भारत]July 19 (ANI): The all-party meeting called by the government on Sunday before the monsoon session of Parliament has started. The government is expected to present its legislative agenda during the meeting. Opposition leaders have indicated that they will raise several issues including the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust donation scam, exam paper leak, delimitation and the role of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
‘BJP betrayed Lord Ram’: Congress
Speaking to reporters on the issues raised by the Congress during the session, Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari alleged that the BJP has “betrayed Lord Ram” and accused the government of failing to protect the public trust. Tiwari said, “BJP and its government have betrayed Lord Ram. They have not just stolen donations but also committed dacoity with the faith of the people. That is why this is our primary issue. We have exposed the NEET scam and the fact that question papers of more than 70 exams have been leaked. These situations are being created deliberately… They are mixing ethanol in petrol and this ethanol is harming the engines. This is something There is a big conspiracy hatched to allow selected people to earn money. Similarly, there are land scams… BJP has betrayed Lord Ram. We will be the first to raise this issue.” He also claimed, “A BJP or NDA government never had, nor will it have, a two-thirds majority.”
Sudip Bandyopadhyay reached the meeting with the new party.
Rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay attended the meeting as did the Nationalist Citizen Party of India (NCPI). He said, “I am joining today as the leader of NCPI-Nationalist Citizen Party of India. Because in the last 15 years, I was the only leader of the Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party. Today I will represent a new party. But the policy of the new party is also the same… that the House belongs to the opposition. This idea should be allowed to reflect… Let the House function and at the same time, we are firm believers of the principle of secularism, communal harmony and unity of the country. We There is no going back from this line, which I will reflect in the meeting and establish that we are completely secular in nature.”
On TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s challenge to the rebel MLAs to return to the party and say that he would resign from his post, Bandyopadhyay said, “He has appealed personally. The MP or MLA will take his own decision.”
