Mumbai, Oct 29: Actor Akshay Oberoi, known for his roles in films like ‘Gurgaon’ and ‘Thar’, recently shared his fascination with playing morally complex characters.
He explained that these roles, such as the one in his upcoming film ‘Gajab Raat’, offer a unique perspective. “What fascinates me about morally grey characters is that they rarely see themselves as the villain of their own story,” Oberoi stated.
He further elaborated that every individual has their own reasons for their actions, and exploring this mindset is incredibly engaging for him as an actor. These roles provide him the freedom to experiment with a range of emotions and contradictions that might not be possible with more conventional protagonists. Oberoi enjoys characters that challenge him and allow him to discover something new with each project.
‘Gajab Raat’, previously titled ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’, also features Nushrratt Bharuccha, Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Saqib Saleem, and Kiku Sharda. Manoj Bajpayee portrays Ajay Nirvit, a corrupt sub-inspector. Oberoi, who also appeared in ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups’, made his debut as a child artist and will next be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’.
