Akshay Kumar, who has his own production and distribution company called Cape of Good Films, had a productive meeting with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on October 18. The actor-producer was seen in discussion with the Uttarakhand Chief Minister as they spoke about the state’s filming policy and other opportunities. Akshay was recently seen in Mussoorie filming a sequence for his upcoming film with co-star Raashii Khanna. It is rumoured to be his next with Welcome director Anees Bazmee. Earlier this year, Akshay had hinted about a title, Maujah Hi Maujah, after Raashii and Vidya Balan had posted a birthday message for him.

According to a report in ANI, the actor seemed to have a productive meeting with CM Dhami at his official residence. The two men discussed Uttarakhand’s new film policy, ways for film production to grow in the state and for it to become one of the country’s leading film destinations. In 2024, a new film policy was drafted by the state to encourage more films to shoot in Uttarakhand. The state is aiming to simplify and expedite shooting permissions with a single-window clearance system. Under this new policy, shooting permissions can be facilitated in seven days, making it easier for filmmakers to coordinate with various government departments, according to DIPR Uttarkhand. The state also wants to create new employment opportunities and self-employment for local artists, technicians, and the youth. The move will also benefit tourism, the hotel industry, transportation, and other local businesses.
Earlier this month, was seen in Mussoorie, reportedly filming a song sequence with co-star Raashii Khanna. The Anees Bazmee film was also shot in the Landour area. The Hindi film is expected to release in December 2026, and the team is currently wrapping up the last parts of production. Akshay is also a co-producer on the untitled film.

This past year, Akshay released the comedies Bhooth Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle; he also reunited with Saif Ali Khan for Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan. Unlike the comedies, Haiwaan did not do well at the box office. Besides Anees Bazmee’s untitled film, which is rumoured to be called Maujah Hi Maujah, the actor has several projects lined up.
He will be seen as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat and the Bollywood films Golmaal 5 and the sci-fi thriller Samuk with Viineet Kumar Siingh and Banita Sandhu. Ajay Devgn and Akshay will once again be starring in a Rohit Shetty film with Golmaal 5 after Singham Again (2024).
