Before the monsoon session, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has attacked BJP. He described the government as arrogant and said that it is not listening to the voices of the students. He also raised the issue of rigging in NEET. SP has warned the Education Minister to stop him from speaking in the House.
New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday targeted the BJP-led government. He alleged that the party was acting with an ‘arrogant’ attitude and not listening to the voices of students and people.
“If we look at history, the British looted us and now the BJP is doing the same. The party is acting arrogantly,” Yadav told reporters. He also questioned the government’s handling of student-related issues, including alleged irregularities in NEET, and said, “The government should at least listen to the voice of the students. Questions are still being raised on NEET irregularities. What kind of government is this? Is this Amrit Kaal?”
SP will not allow the Education Minister to speak in the House
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Virendra Singh said that until a strong system is put in place to protect NEET and other competitive exams from paper leaks, his party will not allow Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to speak in Parliament. Singh told ANI, “…until a robust system is put in place that guarantees that the paper will not be leaked again in the NEET exam or any competitive exam, we will not allow Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to speak in the House.” He further said that the party will follow the decision taken by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. “Our stand is that whatever decision our national president takes, we fully support it,” he said.
The comments come ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, where the opposition is expected to raise concerns over issues related to competitive exams, including alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
Lok Sabha Speaker welcomed the MPs
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla welcomed the MPs on the beginning of the monsoon session of the 18th Lok Sabha. He described the House as the ‘supreme temple of democracy’ and called for a spirit of ‘positive cooperation’ among all the members.
In a post on Twitter, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, welcoming the members, said the morning rain in the capital is a positive sign. The Speaker said, “The eighth session of the 18th Lok Sabha, i.e. the Monsoon Session, is commencing from today. As a blessing of Lord Indra, the rains in Delhi this morning have added new energy and freshness to the atmosphere. In this auspicious atmosphere, Parliament, as the supreme democratic institution of the nation, is ready to welcome all the honorable members.” (ANI)
