Ajinkya Rahane Retire from Cricket: Ajikya Rahane has announced his retirement from cricket. Rahane made his international debut for India in 2011. He announced his retirement with an emotional post, in which he said that he feels this is the right time for him to say goodbye to the gentleman’s game. Rahane’s retirement from cricket means that he will no longer be seen playing in IPL or any domestic match.
What did Rahane say while announcing his retirement?
Rahane said in his video that if something starts, it also has an end. This is the truth of life. We should just respect him and move forward. According to him, he has always believed in his timing and understood its importance. He feels that this is the right time for his retirement from cricket.
Said goodbye to 19 years long career
Rahane played cricket for India for 12 years. During this period, he represented Team India in 85 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T2O matches. He played his last international match in the year 2023 against West Indies in Port of Spain. His total cricket career lasted 19 years, in which he played 205 first class matches, 192 List A matches and 308 T20s.
Rahane’s performance for India and in IPL
Ajinkya Rahane scored more than 8000 runs with 15 centuries in his international career. He scored 5077 runs in Tests with the help of 12 centuries. In ODI he scored 2962 runs with 3 centuries. Rahane has scored 375 runs in T20 International. Talking about Rahane’s IPL career, he scored 5367 runs in 212 matches, which included 2 centuries.
