Travellers flying with Air Astana from Germany now have a new departure point at Frankfurt Airport. Since 5 May 2026, the airline has officially shifted its operations to the airport’s newly opened Terminal 3.
The move is part of Frankfurt Airport’s wider expansion plans and brings Air Astana passengers into one of the airport’s newest facilities.
Where Passengers Need to Go
Passengers flying with Air Astana should now head to Zone 34 inside Terminal 3 for check-in, baggage drop, and self-service kiosks.
The airline says travellers are encouraged to use the self-service facilities to make the airport process quicker and easier, especially during busy summer travel weeks.
For premium travellers, there is also a new lounge option. Business Class passengers, along with Nomad Club Gold and Diamond members, can access the Priority Lounge on the fifth floor after passport control.
More Flights to Frankfurt This Summer
Alongside the terminal change, Air Astana has also increased flights to Frankfurt for the 2026 summer season. Here’s how the updated schedule looks:
- Daily flights from Astana to Frankfurt
- Three weekly flights from Almaty on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- Weekly flights from Uralsk continue to operate
The expanded schedule gives travellers more options between Kazakhstan and Germany during the peak travel period.
What to Expect at Terminal 3
Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 3 has been designed with a strong focus on faster passenger processing and more digital services.
The terminal includes self-service check-in technology, automated baggage drop systems, and modern passenger areas aimed at reducing wait times.
For travellers connecting through Frankfurt or flying long-haul, the new setup could make the airport experience smoother than the older terminals, especially during crowded travel periods.
A Useful Update for Air Astana Passengers
If you are flying Air Astana from Frankfurt in the coming weeks, it is worth double-checking your terminal before heading to the airport. Many passengers may still be used to the airline’s previous departure location.
With more flights added for summer and operations now fully shifted to Terminal 3, this is one airport change travellers should keep on their radar.
