After UP, now ‘name plate’ in Delhi too, name and number written on shops of Najafgarh vegetable market

The name plate controversy was in the news in UP. During the Kanwar Yatra, shopkeepers were asked to write their names at the shops falling on the Kanwar route. There was a lot of uproar over this. Later the Supreme Court put a stay on the government’s order. Now a similar case has come to light from the country’s capital Delhi, in which BJP councilor Amit Kharkadi got name plates installed on shops in Najafgarh vegetable market. Its video is also going viral, in which it can be clearly seen that the vendors have written their names and phone numbers.

In the video, a person is heard saying, “Friends, we had come to Najafgarh vegetable market. A new system has been made here. By the MCD administration, our brother Amit Khadkhadi, who is also the local municipal councilor and chairman of Najafgarh zone. A system of good governance has been created by that brother. The name plates have name and number written inside them, through which we came to know who is the owner of this shop.”

Adulterated goods were being sold!

In the video, the person further says, “And there were many complaints that adulterated goods were being sold. Even if any complaint comes, we will know now. Many thanks to Amit Khadkhadi Bhai for this facility.”

BJP councilor told why name plate was installed?

BJP councilor Amit Kharkadi said that for many days there were complaints in Najafgarh vegetable and fruit market that unknown faces are coming to set up street vendors, whom the local market association does not even know. One day we had a meeting with the Mandi Association. In this, it was decided that phone number and ready number should be written on every street vendor for their identification, so that identification can be facilitated.

Amit Kharkadi said that it should not be that any infiltrator, Rohingya or Bangladeshi is operating the street vendors. We had a discussion with the Mandi Association to look into it and the work of identification was done by the Mandi Association itself. We are taking this meaningful initiative. At every street vendor, their name, phone number and their street number as well as Aadhaar card should be handed over to the local police and MCD administration.
