Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given top priority to the rights of workers and their social security in the state and has made it clear that any kind of violation will not be tolerated. He has directed for comprehensive investigation of manpower agencies, establishment of grievance cells in all industrial units and time-bound resolution of workers’ complaints.

Lucknow, April 15:- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given top priority to the rights, respect and social security of workers in the state and has directed that violation of workers’ interests will not be tolerated. He said that every worker has the right to receive respectable working conditions, full salary on time and all statutory facilities, and strictest legal action will be taken against the culprits for its violation.

Yogi government is strict on workers’ rights

While reviewing the industrial situation of the state through video conferencing late on Wednesday evening, the Chief Minister took special cognizance of the developments in Gautam Buddha Nagar. He directed that the persons who are not genuine workers, but are found involved in spreading industrial unrest, rioting or creating chaos, their immediate identification should be ensured and strict punitive action should be taken against them. While exposing such elements, their photographs should be posted in public places as per requirement, so that the general public can get clear information about the real situation. People should be able to know who are behind the conspiracy to disrupt the industrial development of the state. The Chief Minister also directed that a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ should be adopted against organizations that instigate workers, anarchist elements and those spreading rumours. While giving instructions to continuously monitor the misinformation, rumors and propaganda spreading on social media, he said that in such cases, quick identification should be ensured and strict legal action should be taken against the culprits, so that any kind of confusion or unrest can be controlled at the very beginning.

Orders for investigation of manpower agencies

Taking seriously the complaint of possible irregularities in manpower supply agencies, the Chief Minister directed the Special Investigation Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner and the Labor Department to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth investigation of all such agencies in the state. During the investigation, the actual number of workers, payments received from industrial units, actual payments being made to the workers, ESI, insurance and other facilities should be closely examined, so that any kind of exploitation can be effectively stopped.

Grievance cell mandatory in every factory

The Chief Minister directed that the establishment of a strong and active grievance cell should be ensured in all government and private industrial units, where workers’ complaints are resolved in a transparent, timely and fair manner. The Chief Minister has said that there should be prompt solution to the problems of the workers at all costs. The Chief Minister also said that quality mess arrangements should be developed at workplaces with the cooperation of industrial units.

Now the increased salary will come directly into the bank accounts

Further strengthening labor welfare, the Chief Minister directed all the industrial development authorities to immediately prepare and submit a detailed action plan for construction of dormitories and cheap and accessible housing schemes for workers in industrial areas. He said that development authorities should not be limited to revenue generation only and should also discharge their social responsibilities effectively. Apart from this, the Chief Minister directed that where the salaries of the workers are being transferred directly into the bank accounts, coordination with the banks should be done to ensure security insurance against situations like accidents and untimely death. Along with this, work should also be done with special priority on essential facilities like education, health services and medical insurance of workers’ children.

Yogi government’s ‘zero tolerance’ on those spreading propaganda

To keep the industrial environment balanced and positive, the Chief Minister directed the Industrial Development Authorities of all the districts to maintain constant communication with the entrepreneurs and management of industrial units, so that the problems can be resolved in a timely manner. While instructing the police and administrative officers to exercise special vigilance, the Chief Minister said that no unruly elements should enter the industrial units in the guise of workers. Dialogue should be established only with genuine workers and it should be ensured that all the industrial units of the state continue to operate smoothly.

Increased salary mandatory from April 1

  • It was informed by the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner that the workers are satisfied with the recent decision to increase the wages of the workers and the entrepreneur class is also satisfied with this arrangement. The situation in Gautam Buddha Nagar has now become almost normal. In view of the management related complaints received in some industrial units, the Chief Minister directed to conduct a third party survey, so that the actual causes of the problems can be objectively assessed and effective solutions can be ensured. The Chief Minister said that all workers should get the benefit of increased wages from April 1.
  • In this high-level review meeting organized through video conferencing, all Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, Additional Director General of Police (Zone), Police Commissioner, Inspector General of Police (Range), Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police and senior government level officials were present.
