Mother Dairy has increased the prices of milk in view of the increasing procurement cost of milk. The company has announced an increase of Rs 2 per liter on different types of milk. The new prices will be applicable from 14th May 2026 i.e. Thursday. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the company said that the cost of purchasing milk from farmers has increased by about 6 percent in the last one year. The company says that to ensure less impact on customers, prices were not increased for a long time, but now due to increasing costs, it became necessary to take this decision.
Before Mother Dairy, Amul had also announced an increase in milk prices by Rs 2 per liter. According to the company, the last time milk prices were changed was in April 2025. The company said that it pays about 75 to 80 percent of the earnings from the sale of its milk to the farmers. In such a situation, this price has been increased keeping in mind the interests of both farmers and customers.

After the new prices, loose toned milk will now be available at Rs 58 per liter in Delhi-NCR, which was earlier Rs 56. At the same time, the price of full cream milk pouch has increased to Rs 72 per liter. The price of toned milk has been increased from Rs 58 to Rs 60 per liter. Double toned milk will now be available at Rs 54 per litre. Apart from this, the price of cow milk has also been increased from Rs 60 to Rs 62 per liter.
Sale of 35 lakh liters in Delhi-NCR
Mother Dairy sells about 35 lakh liters of milk every day in Delhi-NCR. The company achieved a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in the last financial year with a growth of 17 percent due to strong demand for dairy products and edible oils. Here, Amul said that farmers are being paid more, which will help in maintaining production. This increase will have an impact on the household budget of common people, because milk is an essential commodity used daily.
