According to the importance of Udaya Tithi and Pradosh Kaal, the fast of Skanda Shashthi will be observed on 21 May 2026 only.

Lord Kartikeya should be worshiped with full rituals on the day of Skanda Shashthi. On the day of fasting, wake up early in the morning and after taking bath, wear clean or new clothes. Take water and Akshat in hand and pledge to observe a fast in front of Lord Kartikeya. Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Lord Kartikeya in the home temple or on a clean platform.
Bathe Lord Kartikeya with Ganga water, milk and curd. After this, apply sandalwood, kumkum and akshat tilak on them. Offer red flowers, fruits, Kalava, and sweets to the Lord. Chant the mantra Om Skandaya Namah or Om Kartikeya Namah during the puja. At last, perform Aarti of God with camphor and ghee lamp. In the evening, remember Lord Kartikeya and offer Arghya to the Sun God and the Moon.
