Adhik Maas Purnima Remedy: Purnima Tithi falls in every month. The date of full moon is considered very sacred. The tradition of bathing in holy rivers and then donating on this day has been going on for centuries, but the full moon of Adhikamas is considered very special. The importance of this full moon is considered very high, because this full moon occurs once in three years. Adhikamas is called Purushottam month, which is the name of Lord Vishnu. God has given his name to this month, hence the results of fasting, worship and charity done on the full moon day of this month are many times more than on normal full moon days. When is Adhikamas Purnima? (When is Adhik Maas Purnima 2026)
- According to the Panchang, this year the full moon date of Adhikamas i.e. Jyeshtha will start on 30 May 2026 at 11:57 am.
- This date will end on May 31, 2026 at 02:14 pm.
Since the moon will rise on the night of 30th May on Purnima Tithi, Purnima Vrat will be observed on Saturday, 30th May. There will be Purnima Tithi at the time of sunrise on 31st May, hence full moon bath and donation will be done on this day.
Remedy for Adhik Maas Ki Purnima Night (Adhik Maas Ki Purnima Ka Upay)
Since there will be a full moon at the time of moonrise on 30th May, on this day at night, take some grains of rice (Akshat) in your hand and while looking towards Moon God, pray in your mind that O Moon God, remove all my worries. Drive away all my fears. I have full faith in you. After this, leave the rice on the ground or put it in a tree. By following this remedy your sorrows and problems can be relieved.
Significance of the full moon of Adhik Maas (Adhik Maas Purnima Significance)
There is a religious belief that on the full moon day of Adhikamas, the Moon becomes proficient in its 16 arts. Due to this, the flow of positive energy in life increases manifold. On this day, meditation and worship of Lord Vishnu or Satyanarayan gives special results. In this month dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the virtue of bathing, donating, chanting, penance and meditation is multiplied.
