Police have arrested four people including a woman in Ramgarh Tal police station of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that these people were carrying out incidents of forgery and robbery in the area under the pretext of Tantra-Mantra. Police investigation has revealed that a youth, who is a resident of Bihar, is accused of murder.
On November 19, some people disguised as beggars came to the house of Sadhna Singh, a resident of Yashodhara Kunj of Ramgarh police station area. Along with begging, those people described themselves as accomplished Tantrik in Tantra Sadhana. He told that we are devotees of Mother Kamakhya and have achieved success in Tantra-Mantra and have benefited many. You are looking very nice woman. Want to do good to you too.
How did the accused cheat the woman?
The accused told the woman to bring one kilo of rice from her house and keep her jewelery in that rice. I will prepare a bundle of rice and jewelery and recite the mantra. After that they will double. Not only this, there will be happiness and prosperity in your house. After luring the woman, the fraudsters kept two rings, earrings, mangalsutra etc. in the rice. All the accused tied them in a bundle and started reciting mantras. After some time, tell the woman that you close your eyes and I am giving you the bundle. When the bundle is in your hands, then I will recite the mantra. After that, close your eyes and turn back and take it inside the house and after reaching the place of your safe, open it.
The woman did the same after falling prey to the thugs. When I took the bundle inside and opened it, instead of rice a substance like clay was seen. She started searching for her jewelery in it, but could not find it. In such a situation, she came out making noise, by then the fraudsters had fled. Hearing the noise, Girija Devi, who lives in the neighbourhood, also arrived, and when she told her about the incident that had happened to her, she said that a similar thing had happened to me yesterday too.
Accused hails from Bihar
After this Sadhna Singh went to Ramgarh Tal police station and complained to the police. The police had registered a case in this matter and were searching for the accused. Meanwhile, when the police found four people including a woman begging in a suspicious condition, they were detained on the basis of suspicion. Upon interrogation, it was found that the accused were residents of Hajipur Nadiawa village of Jehanabad, Bihar.
The names of the four accused are Paras Nat alias Lathor, Markande Nat, Pramila alias Santra and Genhari Nat. When police interrogated her strictly, Pramila told that her husband’s name was Jogi Nath. In August, Jogi Nath, along with his friend Paras Nat, had murdered a young man in the village and since then he is absconding. The police is still searching for Jogi Nat, while Paras was caught by the Gorakhpur police today.
What did the police officer say?
SP City Abhinav Tyagi told that Jogi Nat is also carrying out incidents in Gorakhpur. Right now he is absconding. A team has been formed to arrest him. All the accused used to roam in the area in different disguises. Everyone used to pretend to beg. Seeing the women alone at home, he used to deceive them and used to declare himself to be a certified Tantrik from Kamakhya Devi Temple and used to commit fraud. Two mangalsutras, 27 amulets, one pair of earrings, 14 yellow metal rings, 40 white metal rings and other items have been recovered from their possession.
