Veteran music composer Jatin Pandit is not happy with the recreated version of his iconic song Aankhon Se Tune Kya Keh Diya. He said the remix from the film Bhai Tera Star Hai, featuring Raghav Juyal and Niharika NM, has completely changed the emotional essence of the original composition. The evergreen melody originally belongs to the 1998 film Ghulam starring Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji. Jatin Pandit, one half of the legendary music composer duo Jatin-Lalit, said the new version has compromised on sincerity for commercial gains by turning a soft romantic number into a high-energy dance number.

Pandit addressed the remix via his YouTube channel. He said he came to know about the new version through social media and the internet. He shared that he was shocked to see how the remix had already surpassed millions of views. He then realised it was based on his own composition from Ghulam.

Pandit claimed that the remix sounded like an AI-generated composition. “I recently came across the remix of Aankhon Se Tune and realised it had over 23 million views. Then I realised this was our song from Ghulam. The original album had six songs, and every one of them was created with a lot of honesty and creativity. They kept Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu’s voice, but the new version seems like it was AI-generated in its arrangement, which I don’t know how they did…”
Recalling how he and brother Lalit Pandit made a “very youthful and honest composition,” with no “cheating” in it. “It came straight from the heart. As a composer, I didn’t like the remix because this is not a dancing song. It’s a moderate song with a moderate rhythm and movement. By increasing the tempo, density, and adding a dance beat, its character has changed,” Jatin Pandit reacted.

While Jatin Pandit lauded the performance of ,he said, “their body movements were louder than the song itself.” The music icon had an issue with the remix changing “its musical identity.” He recalled, “I still remember the hard work that went into the recording of this song, and all the songs were so good. Even now, the song is remembered; that is why the remix is also working… But the song is one direction and the arrangement in another direction. The soul of the song is here, and the rhythm is on the opposite side.”
Calling the original “like raising a child with love, grooming them in your own way,” Pandit said the remix was like “someone else takes that child, changes his hairstyle, clothes, and appearance, and presents them to the world. As parents, you wouldn’t like that. That’s how I feel about this remix.”

He further questioned some technical arrangements in the remix and why it was needed to tamper with the original layout. He further requested that netizens listen to the original alongside the remix. “Main request karta hoon ki remix suna hai toh original bhi suniye. Original mein gaane mein thehrav aur ek purity hai… jab purity hamper hoti hai toh dukh hota hai. Music ka kya future hone wala hai samajh mein nahi aata.”
Titled Aankhon Se Tune 2.0, the remix features pieces of the original vocals by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik but has been given new verses and a contemporary arrangement.
