Here a lion suddenly attacked a cattle herder who had gone to feed the cattle in the morning. The video of the incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which the injured youth is seen struggling to save his life, while the villagers are seen trying to drive away the lion. The incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the area.
Attack occurred while feeding cows near the house
According to the information, this incident took place at around 8:30 am on Sunday morning in Garajiya village of Palitana tehsil of Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The injured has been identified as Kalubhai Bogabhai Parmar. It was told that Kalubhai had come to feed the cows tied near his house. Meanwhile, a lion coming from the bushes suddenly attacked them. After the attack, the lion threw him on the ground and grabbed one of his legs with its claws, while holding his hand in its jaws.

In the video surfaced on social media, it can be seen that the injured youth is continuously trying to free himself. The villagers present nearby try to drive away the lion by shouting loudly and making noise, but the lion does not release its grip for a long time.
According to local reports, the lion remained near the young man for about 30 minutes. After this he left the young man and moved towards a cow tied nearby. The villagers took advantage of the opportunity and took the injured out safely and immediately took him to Palitana Government Hospital, where his treatment is going on.
Forest department accused of negligence, investigation started
After the incident, the relatives of the injured and the villagers alleged that the forest department was immediately informed about the attack, but the team did not reach the spot on time. People say that there is a constant threat due to increasing movement of lions in the area and concrete steps should be taken for security.
At present the Forest Department has started investigating the matter. Officials say that the cause of the incident is being investigated and the movements of the lion in the area are being monitored. Experts believe that increasing contact between humans and wildlife in villages adjacent to forest areas is becoming a major reason for such incidents.
