Actually, the whole matter is related to the accident that took place in Lucknow on 4th May. A girl was injured in this accident. In this case, a person living in the girl’s colony lodged a complaint with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Center took the youth’s complaint seriously and reminded all DMs and SPs of the government order dated 13 February 2026 related to the PM Relief Scheme. Issuing the instructions, it has been again stated that if someone gets injured in a road accident, his treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh will be free and cashless in any hospital. Provided that a report is filed in the police station related to the area where the accident took place.
The girl was injured in a road accident on May 4.
The matter was that Preeti Jaiswal, a girl from Padrauna city, was seriously injured in a road accident on May 4 in Lucknow. He was admitted to a private hospital there. Sumit Jaiswal, resident of Awas Vikas Colony of Padrauna city, had arrived to get the girl admitted. He is also an advocate in Delhi High Court. Citing the PM Relief Scheme, he asked the hospital management to provide free and cashless treatment to the girl. The hospital pleaded ignorance of the details of the plan and denied it. After this, when Sumit complained about this to the Lucknow officials, they also expressed ignorance. Then Sumit complained to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Taking the complaint seriously, V Umashankar, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has issued a letter to all DMs and SPs, reminding them of the order of February 13, 2026 issued by the Central Government, and directing them to ensure action in such cases as per the government order. On the instructions of Lucknow DM, arrangements are being made to provide free and cashless treatment to the injured Preeti. Sumit’s father, Padrauna’s senior advocate Rajkumar Jaiswal has congratulated and congratulated his son for this initiative.
