The film Phule, directed by National Award winner Anant Mahadevan, has controversial in Maharashtra. The film was first to be released in cinemas on 11 April but its release was postponed after the Brahmin Mahasangh’s objection. After this, the censor board also suggested some amendment in it. Now this film will be released on 25 April. Many types of statements are coming out about the subject of the film. After the controversy escalated, now Phule’s director and his creative team have met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray.

Director Anant Mahadevan also showed Raj Thackeray to the trailer of the film. And told that this film focuses on subjects like women’s education, caste eradication and social change. The film reflects the struggle and achievements of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule.
Phule tells the accurate story- Raj Thackeray
After meeting Raj Thackeray, director Anant Mahadevan said- He has complete information about historical facts. He saw the trailer of the film. After which Raj Thackeray also said that the film is accurate. He said that the film Phule should be released in theaters as soon as possible. So that more and more viewers can see it on time and get information about history.
The director told that after watching the trailer of the film, Raj Thackeray encouraged us even more. He also said that all scenes have been written correctly. What happened in history is shown in this film. Therefore, it should not be criticized by just looking at the trailer. People should give their reactions only after watching the whole film.
History in the film is not a problem
Shalini Thackeray, Executive Chairman of Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmakar Army, said that if the correct history is shown in the film Phule, then there is no need to make any changes in it. The film should be released without any objection. Raj Thackeray has also said that this film should have been released on Phule’s birth anniversary. There is no caste politics in this. Raj Thackeray questioned why great men are being brought into caste politics.
National Award winner Anant Mahadevan has directed the film. It will feature actress Patralekha Savitribai Phule and Scam 1992 fame Prateek Gandhi Jyotirao Phule, also known as Mahatma Phule.
