Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 18 (ANI): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday said the NDA is getting stronger due to people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised PM Modi’s leadership and stressed that the alliance wants to further strengthen the Prime Minister’s hands.

NDA strong under PM Modi’s leadership: Shinde

Speaking to ANI, the Maharashtra Deputy CM said, “The NDA is growing strong because people have faith in PM Modi. He fulfills his promises and serves the nation with dedication, taking the country forward. Have you ever seen a Prime Minister who has not taken a single day off in 12 years? Today, the country is progressing and moving towards becoming an economic superpower… We are a constituent party of the NDA; our alliance is old. We too Want NDA to be strong, PM Modi’s hands to be strong and the country to keep moving forward.”

Shinde said the alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP is built on a shared commitment to public welfare rather than power. He stressed that the NDA is united despite attempts by the opposition to create divisions. He further said, “No matter how much ill will they (opposition parties) try to create, our (Shiv Sena and BJP) mutual goodwill will always remain. Our friendship is not based on the desire for position or power… but to bring positive change in the lives of people. During my 2.5-year tenure as Chief Minister, we worked as a team. CM Devendra Fadnavis and I worked unitedly. Our agenda was to take Maharashtra forward and defeat the NDA. To strengthen.”

Merger of 6 rebel MPs into Shiv Sena

Earlier today, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla approved the merger of six rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs into the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Shinde. With this, Shiv Sena’s strength in the Lok Sabha has increased to 13, while the number of UBT Sena members has reduced to three.

Confidence in Centre’s decision on NEET controversy

Furthermore, Shinde said that the central government will take a decision in the best interest of the students on the protests taking place at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak controversy. Shinde said, “The protesters were agitating over the NEET exam, and the central government will definitely take a decision in the best interest of the people and students.” Delhi Police this morning took Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site to Safdarjung Hospital as concerns grew over her health following her long hunger strike. Wangchuk has been on a 20-day hunger strike demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations of examination irregularities across the country, including the NEET paper leak controversy.

Supported women’s reservation bill

Shinde also supported the Women’s Reservation Bill and said that support for women’s reservation would be welcomed. He further said, “I would say that the people of West Bengal have given a befitting and clear reply to those who had earlier opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill; if people now act sensibly and support women’s reservation, it will certainly be welcomed.” (ANI)
