There is great news for lakhs of youth who dream of government jobs in Railways. North East Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 6,777 apprentice posts for the year 2026.

Who can apply?
To apply for this recruitment, the candidate must have passed 10th with at least 50 percent marks from a recognized board. Apart from this, one should have ITI certificate recognized by NCVT or SCVT in the related trade.
Additional educational qualifications have also been prescribed for certain trades.
age limit
The minimum age of the applying candidate has been fixed at 15 years and maximum age at 24 years. Reserved category candidates will also be provided relaxation in maximum age limit as per government rules.
There will be no examination in the selection process
The biggest feature of this recruitment is that the candidates will not have to go through any written examination or interview.
While preparing the merit list, the average of the candidate’s 10th marks and ITI marks will be taken. On the same basis, unit wise, trade wise and category wise selection list will be prepared.
This process is considered very beneficial for those youth who have good academic marks and who want to avoid the pressure of competitive examinations.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee for general category candidates has been fixed at ₹100.
Whereas Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Disabled (PwBD), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and all women candidates have been exempted from the application fee.
How much stipend will I get?
Selected apprentice candidates will be given monthly stipend as per prescribed rules during the training period.
As per the current provisions, the minimum monthly stipend starts at around ₹9,600, with a provision for increase in subsequent years of training.
