Tesla Car Price: TeSla has launched the premium rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant of its Model Y in the Indian market. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 50.89 lakh. This electric car gives a WLTP range of 500 kilometers. It will replace the old Long Range Premium RWD variant of the Model Y, which was priced at Rs 67.80 lakh. Now Tesla is selling two variants in India: Premium RWD and L Premium AWD. Delivery of the new variant will start from July 2026.
Battery and performance
Tesla has not yet officially disclosed anything about the battery capacity or motor performance of the Model Y sold in India. However, the rear-wheel-drive Model Y sold in other countries has a 64 kWh battery and rear-mounted electric motor. This motor generates power of 299 hp. The rear-wheel-drive variant of the 2026 Model Y sold in India has a WLTP range of up to 500 kilometers.
Speed and charging
This premium electric car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.9 seconds. Its top speed is 201 kilometers per hour. Tesla claims that when connected to a Supercharger, the Model Y can be charged to travel up to 238 kilometers in just 15 minutes. It supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW.

The 2026 Tesla Model Y Premium RWD has seating for five and its interior comes in all-black or Zen Gray design. Tesla claims that this five-seat model has a maximum storage space of 2,138 liters. Apart from this, this entry-level version of Model Y also has the company’s new 16-inch main touchscreen and an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the rear passengers.
