New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced a bumper cash bounty of Rs 131 on Tuesday for the Indian squad for winning the T20 World Cup.
The amount will be distributed among the team contingent tht includes 15 players, coaching staff and other support staff.
“The Board congratulates the players, support staff and selectors once again on this historic achievement and wishes them continued success in the future,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said in a statement.
The players are expected to get majority of the reward money while the share of the support staff will be decided as per hierarchy, reports PTI.
The BCCI hiked the bonus amount by Rs 6 crore, having handed out Rd 125 crore to the Rohit-Sharma led T20 World Cup winning team in 2024.

Under Surykumar Yadav, India successfully defended the title with a 96-run rout of New Zealand in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
They became the first time to win the T20 World Cup three times (2007, 2024, 2026) and also the first team to retain the crown.
India have now won 14 ICC trophies across senior and Under-19 formats, moving ahead of Australia’s tally of 13.

“The team has shown tremendous unity, discipline and determination throughout the competition. From the very first match, the players demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and belief, which was reflected in their performances on the field,” BCCI’s joint secretary Prabhtej Bhatia said.
“This victory is a testament to the strength of the cricketing ecosystem in our country and the sustained efforts being made to develop the game at every level,” BCCI’s treasurer A Raghuram Bhat commented.
