Trisha Krishnan has been receiving a lot of flak online after Thalapathy Vijay’s wife Sangeetha Sornalingam filed for divorce from the actor.
What shocked netizens was when Sangeetha announced her divorce on the grounds of infidelity. Though she didn’t name the actress, fans think that Vijay was involved with actress Trisha Krishnan. Though both Trisha and Vijay are yet to comment on this matter.
Trisha Krishnan Trolled Amid Vijay-Sangeetha Divorce Buzz
This comes at a time when his last film as an actor, Jana Nayagan, is awaiting release. Meanwhile, the online attacks on the actress’ social media accounts have raised concerns, with many calling the trolling unsafe and unfair. The netizens are also calling Trisha a ‘homewrecker’.
A netizen commented on Trisha’s latest Instagram post, “How many people think Trisha is the reason for Vijay’s divorce,” another one wrote, “it’s both of their fault to spoil a women’s life (if it’s true),” a netizen wrote, “Congratulations on breaking a home.”
However, some netizens also supported Trisha and slammed the trolls. A netizen commented, “It’s shocking that even in 2026, people still rush to blame the woman for everything. Open your minds, people. GET A LIFE PEOPLE,” while another netizen commented, “vijay is the reason for his divorce.”
According to a report in India Today, in her petition, Sangeeta noted, “Respondent even after assuring to end relationship continued the adulterous relationship without remorse.” These claims form the core basis of Sangeeta’s divorce petition and have been cited as grounds under Sections 27(1)(a) and 27(1)(d) of the Special Marriage Act. Under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, divorce can be sought on grounds of adultery and cruelty, both of which have been cited in Sangeeta’s petition. The case is currently pending before the District Court.
