‘Remain close to designated shelters’: India’s advisory for its national in Israel amid tensions

New Delhi: Hours after Israel and the US launched a joint attack against Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv on Saturday urged Indian nationals in Israel to exercise “utmost caution” and remain vigilant amid escalating tensions.

In an urgent advisory, the mission asked Indians to adhere to safety guidelines issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. Citizens were directed to regularly check updated instructions on the official Home Front Command website, remain close to designated shelters and familiarise themselves with the nearest protected spaces at their residence or workplace.

“In view of the prevailing security situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times,” the advisory read.

Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential and unnecessary travel within Israel until further notice and are encouraged to monitor local news, official announcements, and emergency alerts regularly.

“In case of any emergency, Indian nationals may contact the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv, through the 24×7 helpline:Telephone: +972-54-7520711;
E-mail: [email protected],” the advisory stated.

The Embassy said it is closely engaging with the relevant authorities and will continue to issue updates as necessary.

The warning comes as Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and explosions were reported in Tehran. The strikes, carried out with US participation, targeted locations in the Iranian capital.
