Why is LCH Prachanda so special?
LCH Prachanda is India’s first indigenously designed and developed combat helicopter, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). It has been specifically designed keeping in mind the geographical needs of India – namely:
- operation in the desert
- deployment in high hilly areas
- fast attack near enemy border
- accurate strike even at night
This helicopter can fly at a height of more than 5,000 meters. This is the reason why it can also be deployed in high-altitude areas like Ladakh.
