GTA 6 launch date & price: Take-Two CEO hints at fair cost, PS5 & Xbox release confirmed

New Delhi: GTA 6 is still the biggest question in gaming, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has now addressed one of the most heated parts of the debate: the price. Speaking at the iicon conference, Zelnick did not reveal the final GTA 6 price, but his comments suggest the game may not go into the super-premium pricing zone some fans had feared.

As reported by IGN, GTA 6 is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has not been confirmed yet. For Indian players, the big wait is now not just about the launch date. It is also about whether the game lands near the usual $60 to $70 range, which is around Rs 5,400 to Rs 6,300.

What Take-Two CEO said about GTA 6 price?

Zelnick said Take-Two looks at pricing through value, not just hype. He said, “Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery.”

That sounds like a hint that GTA 6 may avoid a shocking, ultra-expensive price tag. Nothing is confirmed, though. So yes, players should not start celebrating just yet.

He added, “Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”

For a game like GTA 6, that line matters. Rockstar games usually have long shelf life, huge open worlds and years of online activity. Many players still play GTA 5 (GTAO) today. I still know people who bought it on more than one console, which is funny and a little painful for the wallet. Moreover, if you know the economics of GTA Online, the base game cost is just an entry fee, Shark cards and GTA+ subscription is where the money is at. Want to buy a Greifer favourite – Oppressor MK2, you must own a Terrorbyte, but before that you need a NightClub!

GTA 6 launch date and platforms

GTA 6 is currently scheduled for November 19, 2026. Zelnick made a light joke about the craze around launch day, saying, “I do think a lot of people will be calling in sick on November 19.”

The game is coming to:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X/S

PC players still have no official launch date.

What about L.A. Noire?

Zelnick also gave a small update for fans of older Take-Two games. He said, “Broadly, we’re looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property.”

On L.A. Noire, he made it clear there is no announcement right now. He said, “There’s nothing to announce on L.A. Noire specifically, and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me.”

For now, GTA 6 remains the big one. The price is still under wraps, but Take-Two is clearly trying to frame it around fairness, value and player trust.
