Rangbhari Ekadashi 2026: Today is the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. It is known as Amalaki Ekadashi. Rangbhari Ekadashi is celebrated on this day in Kashi. Holi starts in Kashi from this day. Rangbhari Ekadashi is a festival dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. On the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Mahadev plays Holi with the people of Kashi.
It is believed that on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Bholenath brings the Gauna of Mata Gaura. On this day Lord Shiva comes to Kashi with Mother Parvati. Holi has started with grand celebrations on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi. The people of Kashi have been invited to play Holi in the temple courtyard. Arrangements of colours, abir and gulal have been made to play Holi in the temple courtyard.

God’s water idol will come
According to the information, the water statue i.e. the statue of Bhole Baba which comes from outside, has to pass through the narrow streets of Kashi. For this, a meeting has been held between the police administration and the Mahant family. He has told that we will bring the water idol in the number of 64 people, hence a limit has been made for the same number of people. After bringing the idol, according to the culture of Kashi, it will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum.

Saptarishi Aarti and Puja
After this, Saptarishi Aarti and other types of worship of the idol will be done. This time there will be no colors, gulal and abeer for people to play in the cultural program organized under Shivashram Manch. This time arrangements have been made to play Holi with flowers there. This program will continue till 10 pm. The last program will be of Holi of flowers, which will be performed by a group from Braj.

Gauna of Baba Vishwanath and Mother Gaura
This time there has been cultural coordination between Kashi and Braj. According to beliefs, Gauna of Baba Vishwanath and Mother Gaura is performed on Rangbhari Ekadashi in Kashi, in which all the residents of Kashi participate. After Mahashivratri, its preparations start. On this occasion, a confluence of amazing joy and devotion is seen in the city of Kashi.
On the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Baba Vishwanath is specially decorated and by offering gulal to him, the devotees get drenched in the colors of Holi. This festival also has an important role in preserving the living traditions and cultural heritage of Kashi.
