‘Eternal reminder to uphold humanity’: PM Modi pays tribute at Yad Vashem

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday placed a wreath at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accompanied PM Modi during his visit.

In a post on X, he wrote, “I also visited the Hall of Names, a reverent space that preserves the memory of those who suffered and perished during the Holocaust.” He called the Holocaust as one of the darkest chapters in human history. “It is an eternal reminder of the need to uphold humanity, dignity, and peace,” he added.

PM Modi visits Yad Vashem for second time

Yad Vashem in a social media post quoted PM Modi as saying: “At Yad Vashem, for the second time, I bow in solemn remembrance of the millions who perished in the Holocaust. This sacred place speaks to the conscience of humanity, reminding us of the devastating cost of hatred and the enduring duty to uphold human dignity.”

The PM added that India stands in solidarity with Israel in honoring the memory of the victims and in our shared resolve that such horrors may never be repeated.
