A very sad and shocking incident has come to light from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. A 17-year-old class 11 student died after falling from the 10th floor of a multi-storey apartment in Laxmisagar police station area.
Initial investigation has revealed that the student had gone to his friend’s house to meet her. At the same time the girl’s mother suddenly returned home. In panic the student tried to hide himself, but this attempt cost him his life.
The deceased has been identified as Rafan Khurshid. He was a class 11 student in a private school in Bhubaneswar. Her father works as a relationship manager in a private bank.
Student gets scared when mother suddenly comes home
According to the information, on the day of the incident, Rafan had gone to meet his girlfriend at her flat. At that time the girl was alone in the house. After some time the girl’s mother suddenly reached home. Seeing them, Rafan got scared and first hid in the bathroom. But when he realized that he might be caught there, he came out of the bathroom and tried to hide by hanging outside with the help of a pipe in the duct yard of the building.
How did the accident happen?
It is being told that Rafan hung for several minutes holding the pipe at the height of the 10th floor. During this time he lost his balance and fell straight down. Due to falling from such a height, he died on the spot. There was chaos in the apartment complex after the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar for post-mortem.
During the investigation, the police also examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the apartment. The police is now trying to piece together the entire sequence of events on the basis of this footage.
Accident or some other reason?
The police have also interrogated the girl and her family. The investigation is still going on and every aspect is being examined in detail. It is being ascertained whether it was completely an accident or there could be some other reason behind it. At present the police have registered this case as unnatural death. The real cause and circumstances of death will become completely clear only after the post-mortem report and forensic investigation report comes.
