A class 7 student at St. Philomena School in Bengaluru has been accused of assault. On the complaint of the father, the police have registered an FIR against the administrative secretary, principal and teachers of the school. A case has been registered under several sections including the Juvenile Justice Act.
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [भारत]July 15 (ANI): Karnataka’s Jnanabharati Police on Friday registered an FIR against the administrative staff of a school in Bengaluru. This action has been taken after a complaint of alleged assault and harassment of a 13-year-old student.
According to the FIR lodged at Gyanbharti police station on Wednesday, the incident occurred between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Tuesday. The complaint has been lodged by the victim’s father Maheshkumar (45), who is a businessman and resident of the same address.
Father made serious allegations in the complaint
In his complaint, Maheshkumar alleged that his 13-year-old son Samarth M, a Class 7 student, was assaulted by school officials in Bengaluru on Tuesday. He claimed that 2-3 teachers and other staff members beat the child with their hands and the administrative secretary and the principal also used abusive language.
The complainant also alleged that when he went to the school to inquire, the staff spoke to him rudely and behaved inappropriately. They have accused the school staff of violating relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act, 1986, RTE Act, 2009 and the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023.
Police registered a case under these sections
In the FIR, the police have named the administrative secretary, principal and 2 to 3 teachers of St. Philomena School located in Mariyappanapalya as the main accused.
This case has been registered under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 1986, Section 115(2), 118(1), 351(2) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023 and Section 17 of the TRE Act, 2009.
FIR in written form was received at Gyanbharti Police Station today at 12:30 pm. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
The FIR was sent to the 6th ACMM Court at 1:30 pm today. There is no information about any arrest yet. Further investigation is ongoing in the matter. (ANI)
