Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s final film has been awaiting release for almost six months now. As fans are counting days before the film finally hits the screens, the film recently completed its pending certification.
The after months of delay, passing it with an ‘A’ certificate.
Jana Nayagan re-censored
According to reports, the film is set to release internationally on July 24 and on July 23. However, the dates are yet to be officially announced by the makers. Earlier, CBFC had cleared Jana Nayagan with a runtime of 183.11 minutes. However, the film was re-censored on July 13, and the CBFC has issued a new certificate with the revised runtime, as per a Cinema Express report.
According to the CBFC website, Jana Nayagan’s new runtime now stands at 183.52 minutes, which translates to 3 hours, 3 minutes and 52 seconds. Meanwhile, the A rating remains the same. The Indian version of Jana Nayagan has been censored with some components modified, while the film’s uncut version will be released in the U.K, since the British censor board has cleared the film with zero cuts.
In addition to the changes, Vijay’s name in the title slate of Jana Nayagan has been changed to ‘The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay’. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Vijay will no longer be addressed as Thalapathy because he has taken the oath as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister.
