Controversy over drone along with robotic dog

After the video surfaced, many tech experts and social media users claimed that this robotic dog is actually the ‘Go2’ model of Chinese company Unitree. This model is available in the market for around Rs 2 to 3 lakh. Along with the robotic dog, controversy also arose regarding a drone. In another video, the drone shown on the university campus was said to be a project made from scratch. However, some users claimed that it is a readymade ‘Stryker V3 ARF’ model priced around Rs 40 thousand.

University statement: We did not create a robotic dog

Galgotias University gave clarification after the video went viral. The university said that it has been continuously trying to bring new and best technology to its campus. He says that when students see and understand new technology, only then their thinking develops and new innovators are created. The university acknowledged that the robotic dog was recently acquired from Unity. He said that this is not just a machine kept for demonstration, but it is a ‘mobile classroom’. The university clarified in its statement that it has not created this robotic dog itself nor has made any such claim.
