Yuvraj Samra: Named after Yuvraj Singh, Canada youngster scripts T20 World Cup history with special century

New Delhi: Canada’s Yuvraj Samra announced himself on the big stage with a magnificent century in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 Group D match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Named after Yuvraj Singh, Samra, who also idolises the Indian batting legend, showed why he is rated so high and played one of the finest innings in T20 World Cup history.

His 65-ball 110 is the highest individual score of this edition of the marquee event, surpassing Pathum Nissanka’s 100 not out against Australia on Monday.

At 19 years 141 days, Samra also became the youngest to score a T20 World Cup century.
