Gupt Navratri 2026 Day 1: According to the Panchang, Gupt Navratri of Ashadh month has started from 15th July 2026. This nine-day festival is considered very important for Tantra-Mantra, Sadhana, Mantra Siddhi and Goddess worship. While nine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped in Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri, special importance is given to the worship of ten Mahavidyas in Gupt Navratri. In many Tantric traditions, special worship of Mother Kali is done on the first day. It is believed that by worshiping with a true heart and offering proper food, one gets the blessings of the Goddess and the sadhana is successful.

How to do puja on the first day?
On the first day of Gupt Navratri, after taking bath in the morning, clean the place of worship and install the idol or picture of Maa Kali. After this, light a lamp and incense, offer red or black flowers and offer food as per your devotion. Chanting mantras or praises of Maa Kali during puja is considered auspicious. Finally, pray to the Goddess for happiness, prosperity and well-being of the family.

Gupt Navratri is considered more esoteric and meditation oriented than normal Navratri. During this time, many devotees worship the ten Mahavidyas.
