Jharkhand Industries Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Jharkhand Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. It showcased six GI-tagged handloom products showcasing the textile heritage of the state to national and international buyers.

Jharkhand Industries Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Jharkhand Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday. It showcased six Geographical Indication (GI) tagged handloom products to showcase the state’s rich textile heritage, traditional craftsmanship and the skills of its artisans to national and international buyers.

The pavilion includes Tasar Silk, Kuchai Silk, Bhagaiya Sarees and Fabrics, Tumka Chadar, Bhoya Sarees and Fabrics, and Pancho Sarees and Fabrics, which reflect the cultural identity and age-old weaving traditions of Jharkhand.

‘Aim to increase employment opportunities by stopping migration’

Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said, “Our identity should go beyond the borders of our state and reach the national and global markets. By showcasing the rich handloom and textile heritage of Jharkhand on international platforms, we aim to create more employment opportunities within the state so that our youth do not have to migrate in search of livelihood. More employment will accelerate the economic growth and overall development of Jharkhand.”

The Minister said that Bharat Tex 2026 provides an important platform to connect the traditional textile products of Jharkhand to the national and global markets, create new business opportunities for weavers and artisans and integrate the state’s textile sector into the global value chain.

Bharat Tex 2026: A global platform

According to the release, India TEX 2026 has emerged as a leading global platform for trade, investment, innovation, policy dialogue and strategic partnerships across the textile and apparel value chain. The event highlights India’s growing global leadership in textiles, fashion, sustainability, technological innovation, investment and international trade.

Industry Department Director Vishal Sagar, Industries Department Additional Secretary Preeti and other senior officials of the department were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Bharat Tex 2026 has brought together manufacturers, exporters, global buyers, investors, policy makers, international delegations, start-ups, technology providers and artisans from India and across the world, making it one of the largest gatherings of the textile industry globally. (ANI)
