‘Prepared for Abhishek, Ishan came out of syllabus’: Fans troll Pakistan after Kishan’s masterclass in T20 WC

‘Prepared For Abhishek, Ishan Kishan Came Out Of Syllabus’: Netizens Roast Pakistan Bowlers

New Delhi: There was widespread chatter about Indian explosive opener Abhishek Sharma’s return in the high-voltage encounter against Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15. The left-hand batter didn’t play the last game, as he was recovering from a stomach infection, and made his anticipated return in the Pakistan game by replacing Sanju Samson.

But Abhishek’s return didn’t go well, as he was dismissed for a four-ball duck against Pakistan’s skipper, part-time bowler Salman Ali Agha. It was his second duck in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

After the southpaw’s dismissal, it was looking like Pakistan came with a proper plan for Abhishek, but after his dismissal, Ishan Kishan, the other opener, came out of the syllabus and started bashing the Pakistani bowlers in the powerplay.

Kishan played a sensational innings with a 77-run knock on a spin-friendly pitch. His power-packed innings came with a 192.50 strike-rate as he smashed 10 fours and three sixes in his 40-ball innings.

Ishan Kishan joins elite list

The explosive left-hand batter joined an elite list as he became the fourth Indian batter to smash a half-century against arch-rivals Pakistan in T20 World Cup history. Kishan joined Virat Kohli (4), Gautam Gambhir (1), and Robin Uthappa (1).

India post highest total against Pakistan in T20 WC history

India gave a solid response against the variegated spin charge of Pakistan as they posted 175 runs in 20 overs. The score became the highest score for India across nine T20 World Cup outings against Pakistan. Earlier, their 160-run chase in Melbourne was India’s highest score against the Men in Green.

Pakistan’s highest chase in T20 WC history is 176 against Bangladesh at Pallekelle in 2012. More interestingly, the West Indies have chased the highest target in the T20 WC against India (193 at the Wankhede in 2016).
